Kirk Shepard

Board Member & Co-Founder

Dr. Kirk Shepard is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist physician. He is currently CMO and Senior Vice President, Head of Global Medical Affairs Oncology at Eisai Inc. Pharmaceutical Company.

Dr. Shepard’s experience in multiple therapeutic areas includes diverse disciplines of medical affairs and product commercialization. In 2015, he was selected as one of the 100 Most Inspiring People in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PharmaVOICE).  In 2016-17, he was President of the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS).

Before his pharmaceutical career, Dr. Shepard completed his hematology and oncology fellowships at the University of Chicago and then served as a staff physician in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  He has more than 50 medical publications in journals and books.

Andres Stern

Andres Stern is the Region Europe Medical Excellence and MSL Director in Novartis Oncology. He has 14 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in different roles such as Medical Advisor, MSL Manager and Therapeutical Area Head. Prior joining Novartis he served in Wyeth in Rheumatology and in Grunenthal Pharma dedicated to Pain.

Andres was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1976 and lives in Spain since 2005. Since 2017, he joined the Region Europe HQ in Milan. He holds a medical degree from maimonides university, Argentina.

In his current position in the world wide team, Andres leads and coordinates a team of over 450 Medical Affairs associates across Europe and his focus areas are Solid Tumors and Onco Hematology and ensures that the medical affairs organization in Europe is equipped with the needed capabilities towards the future both for the field and non-field roles.

Eddie Power

Eddie Power PhD MBA is currently the VP, North America Medical Affairs, Hospital Business at Pfizer and has held positions of increasing responsibility during his career in the pharmaceutical industry.

He started at Pfizer in September 2010 leading US teams in Vaccines and Infectious Diseases before assuming before assuming US Medical Affairs leadership for Pfizer’s Essential Health business Unit. Before joining Pfizer, Eddie held Medical and Clinical Development positions at Cubist, Bayer and GSK.

He has a passionate interest in learning and capability development for Medical Affairs colleagues and teaches for the International Federation of Associations of Pharmaceutical Physicians and Pharmaceutical Medicine (IFAPP) Academy/Kings College Medicines Development Certification Program.

Before joining the pharmaceutical industry, Eddie held a faculty position at United Medical and Dental Schools, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals, London, UK. He holds a PhD degree from the Welsh School of Pharmacy, University of Wales, UK and an MBA from Henley Management College, UK

Jenny Ghith

Senior Director, Omnichannel Strategy and Innovation Lead, Global Scientific Communications

Jenny joined the Pfizer Oncology team in 2018. She brings more than 15+ years of experience in industry and scientific communications. This helps her lead the implementation of a cross-portfolio omnichannel scientific communication strategy that amplifies emerging scientific data across publications, congresses, and digital platforms through the establishment of omnichannel medical guidance and best practices for oncology. Prior to joining Pfizer Jenny was a VP, Medical Director at BGB Group (a medical communications agency) where she led a team responsible for delivering strategy and scientific content for various healthcare professional audiences.

 

In addition to her focus on omnichannel, Jenny leverages her diverse background to drive social media, innovative publication activities as well as other digital initiatives focused on using artificial intelligence for gap analyses and meaning extraction. Her efforts in AI have led to a first-of-its-kind AI-based literature-mining dashboard and publication. Jenny has driven patient-centricity strategies for her team, health literacy initiatives and the first patient poster pilots in oncology.

 

Jenny holds a MS in Biology and Immunology and a BS in Biology from Virginia Tech. She is an MBA candidate, focusing on Innovations and Leadership at the Stevens Institute of Technology. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, Saad, and son, Omar. She is passionate about basketball as a die-hard Golden State fan, in addition to music as she was a DJ in college.

Alice Chung

Senior Analytics Manager, Strategic Analytics & Intelligence, Medical Affairs

Alice is currently a member of the Genentech’s Business Operations team in the areas of Analytics, Program design and implementation. She leads a science/clinical analytics team and collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders including Medical and MSL teams to design and implement long term strategies and programs for Bio-Oncology, Immunology, and Ophthalmology as well as pipeline products.

Alice has a diverse and extensive experience in long term strategy formulation, scenario planning, program design and implementation. She started her Management Consulting career as a trained market researcher conducting market/industry research and data analysis in the Commercial space for Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology clients. Later part of her consulting career she spent designed and managed complex projects at both US and International level. Since 2006, Alice has been invited to numerous industry Life Sciences conferences, including Digital Pharma, KOL summit, Big Data/Advanced analytics, and Innovation discussion forums as a speaker, facilitator, and panelist to share best practices and innovative programs incorporating use of advanced technology, and analytic methodologies.

Alice received her education from University of Michigan, University of Chicago, Stanford University on business related topics and with MIT on Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence.

Maja Beilmann-Schramm

Maja holds a Phd. in Biology. She has been working successfully in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years now, in a variety of positions with extensive experience in Marketing and Sales, Medical and Medical Science Liaison. For more than 10 years she has dedicated her work exclusively to the role of Medical Science Liaison with personal experience as MSL, MSL team lead at country and international level as well as driving MSL excellence on a global corporate level. She is currently holding the position of Global Director of Field Medical & HCP Exchange at Merck/EMD. Maja is the founder and owner of MSL-Excellence.de, where she provides mentoring and consultancy to aspiring MSL, MSLs and MSL Leaders. As a result, she follows the development of the MSL role from a wide variety of perspectives.

Pinky Dharmshaktu

Dr Pinky Dharmshaktu is currently Associate Medical Director, Global field medical excellence and HCP exchange at Merck Healthcare, and has served in varied affiliate, regional and global medical affairs roles at Merck, Amgen, GSK and Novo Nordisk. Being a clinician with industry experience spanning geographies (emerging and developed markets), she brings a deep understanding of the role of research and development through complementary lenses of her clinical experience.

Besides all things digital, Dr Dharmshaktu also has an eclectic interest in health technology assessment, applied finance, and has served as guest lecturer at University of New South Wales faculty of medicine, and is chair of the real world evidence working group of oncology industry task force under Medicines Australia. She is passionate about developing the capabilities of her team and those she gets to work alongside, while managing projects with efficiency and excellence, and is a STEM industry mentor.

Liz Clark is a pharmaceutical physician with over 25 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.  Having qualified in Medicine at Imperial College London, she undertook 4 years of general medicine prior to joining pharma.  She has held both office and field based roles in Medical Affairs, Marketing and Sales Management, working with both medicinal products and devices.  She is currently Vice President of Medical Affairs at Norgine Ltd. where she is responsible for leading Norgine’s patient engagement work.  In her spare time Liz enjoys gardening, running and yoga.
